Abstract

This book is intended for professionals and students with a passion for innovation. It presents a novel approach to innovation for use by anyone who creates new products, services, concepts or interventions -a designerly approach.Images of Design Thinking, written by innovators for innovators, is the first book to describe how a designerly approach is used in the field of innovation.Thirty seasoned innovators share their thoughts and experiences on how they apply design in their daily practice. Their stories show that there are multiple views on, or images of, design thinking in innovation: value-driven innovation, experience-driven innovation, purpose-driven innovation and vision-driven innovation. These images describe combinations of the role, responsibility and vision of the innovator, the innovator's context (both social and physical), and the scope of the innovation project that he or she is working on. Each of these four images is discussed in a dedicated chapter that includes tips, pointers and best practices to help the reader get the most out of these rich combinations. The book provides inspiration to innovators at all levels of experience.

Abstract

Innovators have long recognised that constraints stimulate the process of creativity and innovation. When the box is the limit, creativity often comes to the surface organically as a natural solution. Restraints should never be a reason not to innovate. Often the contrary is true: restraints accelerate creativity, the driving force behind innovation. When the Box is the Limit provides multiple inspiring examples from different industries and offers you a suite of 5 techniques. These techniques show step-by-step how to use natural or self-imposed constraints to the benefit of creativity and innovation. Put them to use with help of the downloadable tools on the interactive website accompanying the book. Are you convinced that creativity plays a crucial role in the daily work environment, but are you also aware of the boundaries that take away the illusion of "the sky is the limit' ? Turn the undeniable reality into a real creative advantage with When the Box is the Limit. Bron : http://www.bol.com

Abstract

The third edition of Multinational Enterprise and Economic Analysis surveys the contributions that economic analysis has made to our understanding of why multinational enterprises exist and what consequences they have for the workings of the national and international economies. It shows how economic analysis can explain multinationals' activity patterns and how economics can shed conceptual light on problems of business policies and managerial decisions arising in practice. It addresses the welfare problems arising from multinationals' activities and the logic of governments' preferences and choices in their dealings with multinationals. Suitable for researchers, graduates and upper-level undergraduates. The third edition of this highly accessible book incorporates the many additions to our knowledge of multinationals accumulated in research appearing in the past decade.

Abstract

Multinationals from Brazil, Russia, India and China, known as the BRIC countries, are a new and powerful force in global competition and are challenging the incumbency of much older global companies from the developed world. Emerging market multinational enterprises (EMNEs) now account for a quarter of foreign investment in the world, are a prolific source of innovation and make almost one in three cross-border acquisitions globally. Despite this, traditional theories of international business do not provide a satisfactory explanation of their behaviour or performance. The authors of this book shine new light on the rise of the EMNEs and how they have built a competitive advantage through innovation, novel configurations of their international value chains and the acquisition of companies overseas. Any manager, policy maker or researcher who wishes to understand the emergence of this new breed of multinational will find this book an invaluable resource.
